Chajana Denharder (1981, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) is an artist based in New York City.  She attended UCLA for painting in 2006 and received her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2008. She received a Kossak Painting Grant in 2015 and a Young Artist Grant from The DC Commission on Arts and Humanities in 2012. She has been included in exhibitions on the East Coast and abroad and has performed at The National Portrait Gallery, The Corcoran Gallery of Art and (e)Merge Art Fair. Her work has been reviewed in publications including The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, New American Painting's blog and Performa's blog. She is currently pursuing her MFA in combined media from Hunter College and will graduate in Spring 2016.
